Well said. A "community" does not necessarily have to be a democracy. This board is not. It is a benevolent dictatorship, imo. Which is appropriate for this venue. If I want a different kind of board, I'll start one. Others have done the same.

Who is this "we"? As you have seen, a number of folks disagree with you. Every social situation involves "competing goods." You find it a value and a good to allow folks to post in the first topic they spy; maybe so, but it is surely in competition with the good that are host is seeking.
