Oh man! Probably some overlap, as I too just left the place--this morning! Didn't know what time the spa/sauna opened--I'd have joined you...I just usually went around 9am--both weekend days I was the only one in there (which was nice as well).

I prefer to have breakfast in the restaurant versus the lounge--they don't really tell you that you can, but if you ask (at least for this Diamond), they confirmed that I'd be on the "list". More variety, and it opens a hour earlier (6am versus the lounge which opens at 7am).

I've been staying there on every visit to Shanghai since my post a few places higher. I've come to know some of the staff personally, and they always take great care of me. The hotel is not without faults, but serves me perfectly every time I'm in Shanghai nowadays.

Even the East Tower rooms are getting near time for an update, but nonetheless, I love this hotel...Great service, huge rooms (always a suite upgrade for me from the lowest AAA or prepaid rate I can book), decent food and very convenient location for me.
