Why did I get this upgrade status email?
I'm a legacy AA Gold, no pre-merger status on US (though I had Silver in 2013).
I have an AA ticket (001) for next week, booked with my AAdvantage number, AA metal for the outbound and US metal for the return. This morning I got an email "Your Upgrade Status" from US for the return flights, I'm still in coach.
Now the timing doesn't surprise me, back when I was US Silver I'd often get these emails well ahead of my 2 day window. But does this mean that now that the programs are combined, these flights are eligible for 2-day-out upgrades? I had thought that an AA ticket on US metal could only be upgraded inside the 24 hour window?
