That happened to me recently. Try uploading JPEGs instead of PDFs. I got upload failures when trying to upload a multi-page PDF, so instead I just uploaded JPEGs and there were no problems. If you have Adobe Acrobat, you can use File > Save As to save as JPEGs without any additional fuss.
