I dont know. I have done a lot crazier things and as a long-term FT'er you should know that people on here have a high threshold to pain.
As an Aussie who now lives in the US, I dread the flights DownUnder now - due to the insane UA pricing (I'm located out of DEN so its a captive UA hub).
If pricing ex USA on EK was reasonable (and it isnt), I would happily fly EK.
On the other hand, this summer I am taking the family to Australia and we are going to route home via Europe on EK, and then head to the US (MEL-DXB-MXP-JFK).
