On the A330-300, you have (as you know) 14+ people served prior to you (if you are in 2J or 2A). On a very short transatlantic flight (BOS-AMS, which sometimes is just over 6 hours....) this can make a difference. I agree, it's not a deal breaker (and I always aim for 2J and have no issues, but then again, I always skip breakfast and wake up just before landing....); but if you really wanted a "full" meal service and then right to sleep.... it would be a "bit" faster to sit further back, IMO.
