LUP! That's Kalaupapa, the landing strip at Father Damien's leper colony on Molokai. A number of years ago, a friend at Aloha Airlines booked me on an Island Air prop from West Maui that stopped at MKK, then made a regularly-scheduled (but unannounced) stop at the landing strip on the northern tip of the island where they off-loaded supplies. Then we went on to HNL. They stopped at LUP two or three times a week, always off-loading supplies and offloading or taking on passengers. It was a tiny strip at sea level, far, far below the rest of the island of Molokai, which is a huge plateau.
