Manual entry of the number always works though - just click "Problem reading document" and enter the 9 digit A#. Quicker than scanning, IMO.
Maybe there was a problem with your card. My mom had no problem scanning her green card at the kiosk 2 weeks ago using the new GE kiosk at AUH.
