Ok so do you guys think the grain of salt might explain this...
YYZ-BKK is 11055, as I understand MPM you basically can make as many connections (keeping the stopover rules in mind) as long as going from YYZ-BKK you don't go over 11055 miles. So then I'm wondering why YYZ-IAD-DXB (STOP)-SIN-BKK worked? I managed to get all the way through the booking and gcmap (while it may not be spot on, it's pretty close) lists this as 11922.
My other follow up question in an attempt to understand this whole thing, and MAYBE be able to ballpark city pairs a bit, can anyone explain why YVR-BNE is only 7355 MPM when the real distance is 7351, whereas YVR-HKG is 8381 real distance 6392? I get that they are trying to limit you to "logical" connections, but with BNE being so tight and no direct flights, you'd exceed MPM just by going YVR-SYD-BNE.
