Puts the growth of Emirates and the importance of it for the region in a nice perspective.
It's a big gamble what they are doing, but diversification is normally a good thing. And so far it seems to be working. So far they seem to be creating and gobbling up most of the growth in international air travel. But the expansions and plans are even for a much larger growth, it will be interesting to see how that works out. Even with the amount of people just connecting a significant amount of tourism revenues also seems to be sticking.
And cargo is an area that tend to get little attention but is prospering.
Page 10 of that report is also interesting in that it states that the Emirates Group purchases the majority of its jet fuel outside of Dubai - putting paid to that misinformed idea that likes to continually rear its head about fuel at DXB for EK being cheap/below market rates!
