If low-tier US Airways award seats are available, they should show up on an award search at aa.com. If they do, then they should be bookable with Avios. However, ba.com often has difficulty displaying connecting award-flight itineraries, so you might have to search for each flight individually on ba.com.
As for Southwest, you must search at southwest.com. I'm not sure if you can redeem Capital One venture points on Southwest. Check the details of the Capital One Venture program.
Excuse me for being thick, but I must clarify!
In order to search the US Airway Flights, I search using the american airlines (aa.com) website? Am I understanding this correctly?
Also, would us airways possibly have a flight coming back from mia/fll to ewr/lga/jfk?
We looked into getting flights by straight using the capital one venture points. We found flight EWR to MCO and MIA to EWR. The total for both of us would be around 110,000 capital one venture points. Does that sound like a good deal?
Edit - checked southwest from FLL and there are no non-stops so that is out.
