Status reset on 1st February -- in most cases UA will not do softlandings --- you will most likely get the status you earned. Lots of discussion in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...ualifying.html.
But as with all things there are exceptions -- http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...-only-pls.html, most seem to be cases of high PQD and low PQMs.

The first was to only buy up to to the status and the other was status with PQS and PQD. Both options we a lot less that I thought they were going to get me for. I chose the later option.

Good Luck.
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unite...an-2015-a.html covers this in more detail.

Given the existing threads, lets continue the discussion in those threads.
