I did this last November. I stayed five nights at this hotel, and went daily to Singapore as a tourist. Commute time from the time I left the hotel until I arrived at where I was going in Singapore (zoo, bird park, museum, etc.) tended to be about 2 1/2 hours by public transit, including walk to immigration, bus across the border, MRT and bus when needed in Singapore. Return commute is about the same. The general direction of traffic seems to be from JB to Singapore in the morning and vice versa in the afternoon so it is crowded at normal commuting hours. I spent one day in JB because I wanted to take a rest and not have to deal with the commute.

So I'd say that it is doable but quite unattractive and I would not do it again. Using points, it only costs 20000 HH points for the five nights, plus got free breakfast as Gold, but you pay for it with a long daily commute. It may be possible to do it by taxi but I did not investigate this.

no more complementary access to the executive lounge?
As a gold, I got free daily breakfast in the main restaurant and did not get executive lounge access.
