Just arrived back from Warsaw where I stayed at the Doubletree on my first night.
Thanks to Google maps, I had researched how to get from Modin to the Hotel, okay it is not in the centre but a bit of planning which is part of going to any new place adds to the excitement.
Think it took about 1.5 hours after security at airport to arrive at Hotel using public transport of Bus, Train and another bus.
Nice big reception area / foyer with 4 manned desk, unfortunately a convention was just checking in, so I went over to the Bar area and ordered a drink while I waited for queues to quieten down.
Check in process went quick and I was assigned a room on the second floor, it was not the H honours floor which is on the top, but it was on the same level has lounge.
Think I remember it has 4 lifts and there was never a long wait.
Corridors to rooms were wide and large open space by lifts.
Did not take a photo of room, but it was more than adequate, small problem with curtains not closing completely but I saw housekeeping and a maintenance person arrive within 5 minutes and fixed the issue. The windows in room opened.
Lounge
A very nice lounge with outside balcony, so was able to have a smoke outside without having to go down too reception. Food offering was good with 3 hot dishes; only 1 hard spirit of Scotch was on offer between 18.00 and 20.00. But they did do a nice South African Red wine.
I was the only person in the lounge from 18.00 till 19.45 when a family of 7 people turned up.
After this I went downstairs back to the Bar and had a few bourbons, not the cheapest but there is nothing else around by this hotel.
Breakfast the next morning I took downstairs and was impressed by the choice, with an omelette station and some pre made waffles. Even though there was a large convention on it did not seem busy.
Glad to say I was very happy with Hotel and are planning to return in May for a couple more nights, Warsaw is a great place and VFM hotels to do MR.
