If you are risking the Amex OBC, then for those in areas with CVS that allow purchases with cc, may as well buy the Vanilla GC there and save $1 per $500
(Or, on the odd days when portals give 2.25%, buy $3000 AGCs with a 2% card, and do even slightly better, assuming you have the shipping plan)
