Should I book from LAX to LIH or Honolulu? Where do most of the people fly to?

Also, any awesome travel guide for Hawaii to make the most of these 4 days?
More flights directly to HNL, but that doesn't necessarily make Oahu the best choice for your particular trip (doesn't mean it's not the best choice either - depends on your tastes, desires, what you want to see/do, time, etc.)

For any particular major island in Hawaii, the best travel guide is the Revealed series of books. For Kauai (which I presume is the island you'll focus on, since you're flying back from LIH), that would be "Kauai Revealed". Unless it's the Kindle version you're going to get (which you can simply download, of course), you'll have to hurry and choose fast shipping from Amazon (or wherever) to get it in time.

That's another problem of booking a trip so close in time; for places like Hawaii the best travel guide is a book, not a website, and thus you have to allow the time to get the book!
I'd agree with sdsearch that 4 days is really, really rushing it to see more than one island. Can it physically be done? Sure, but you will just be rushing through without time to really soak in the charms of Kauai in particular, IMHO.

I also like the Revealed series.
