They only replaced some of the IFS crew. Weird. My regular FA stayed on. She isn't young but very nice and I keep getting her almost every time I fly this route.
I know Pilots have different time out rules than FAs. Also, they can ask Pilots/FAs to go over if they can (or they used to before 2014...not sure if that changed recently in Canada).
Sounds like it was close, then discussed, some said yes, others said no then they had to get new crews. If they said 8 minutes at 2:45, one has to assume they had been called in at 2:00.
