In spite of all the accolades Jpn gets for great service, I just had the worst ever customer service experience. Entered a small mom&pop toy store in Kofu, and the store lady gets up to come stand a couple yards behind to monitor me as I'm looking at stuff. No more than a minute later, she asks "have you decided?" Htf can I decide in 50 sec?! The place didn't feel right, so I said "ojamashimashita' and began to leave. The lady then has the audacity to overtly roll her eyes and make hand gestures as I pass by her to exit.

While this was definitely the worst, it is typically at these small independent mom&pop businesses in Jpn where I sometimes experience weird vibe. Not talking about stores that cater to visitors in touristy places, though.
