I know the 180 by E-Rewards on the AA awards is not great, but I keep reminding myself that "beggars can't be choosers". I am in no way inferring that anyone here is a beggar, but just mean that E-Rewards is free, and getting something is better than getting nothing. While getting AA miles would have been nice, none of us had to pay membership fees, etc., and so getting the new AA award or any of the existing awards still puts us all "ahead".

e-rewards is definitely NOT free. We pay for our membership with our time, survey responses, release of our personal information, and even our pocketbooks when we respond to their offers. e-rewards makes plenty of money off of us, so it really stinks when they make a move like this.

I stuck with them when they started sending me $0.35 and $0.50 emails and the upcoming AA redemption option was one of the main reasons. It's now going to be a lot harder to justify clicking on one of their emails ever again.
