You should be fine, unless in the unlikely event that some airline rep makes a fuss about it -- highly unlikely since they usually don't check that closely.
I've flown on ID that was expired by nearly a year. I had no issue with the TSA or airline even as it was mentioned as having expired. My valid identity doesn't change with the expiration date of some printed object.

If they do pull me aside for more questioning, what does that entail. Do they do a background check or something?
