Good Stay
I had another very pleasant stay at SLS, my second this year.
I stayed as a comp'd guest, getting a 3-day free stay based on previous play and their "Code" player card.
I was upgraded to a larger room in the Lux Tower but did not get an HHonors breakfast perk from my Diamond Status because I was on a comp'd stay. I seem to remember somewhere HHonors benefits not working for casino-paid free stays, so I didn't push the issue. The buffet is closed, and coffee shops aren't my thing, so it's not like I would have used the Perq $15 vouchers if they even gave them to me.
My room was larger than my last one...and while small for Vegas standards, it was plenty big enough for me. I love the spacious bathroom and even more spacious shower with dual rain heads.
I had a lot of comp'd credit available and I tried more of their eateries, and was pleased with all.
For this stay, I opted not to leave the property. I just wanted to gamble and rest and this place provided both.
Whether at the check-in desk, the elevator, the casino floor, or the restaurants, service all around was friendly and efficient.
I'll be back at SLS again in a few weeks for CES. The location next to the monorail makes it a no-brainer to get back/forth to the main convention center. It'll be a hike to go elsewhere on the strip from SLS, but during CES, everything is a hike anyway with long taxi lines, long walks, and other hassles associated with the 150k+ guests in town for that event....so I don't mind sacrificing being far away from the likes of Mandalay Bay to be a monorail stop away from the convention center.
For CES, I was able to get a room at SLS for under $150/night. Which is quite a steal for CES rates. Last year I stayed at Elara, another fine HHonors property. I had an amazing suite there last year...but this year their rates were exponentially higher than last year's.
I'm an HHonors Diamond and am a bit snooty when it comes to travel...so while there's negative posts here and TripAdvisor for the SLS, I'll continue to recommend it.
