The sea wasn't too bad at all,I've seen worse in the English channel, although you can be unlucky with it.There seemed to be plenty of meds available if needed, but I can honestly say we felt fine throughout.
It's definitely worth seeing,I just am not articulate enough to describe the beauty of the place. Most cruises are around 10 days, and the longer itinerary is around 15-16 days and generally takes in the Falklands and South Georgia. Would have liked to have taken the longer trip but I didn't want to leave the kids longer than we already had.
Cost is a major issue, but there are cheaper options, often there are last minute deals- there are a couple of bucket shops in USH that sell off empty cabins within days of departure..you'd have to be braveer than me to do that though!
We paid around 8k in GBP for the cruise sector alone.HTH x.
