1st January is one of the few days of the year when you can count on churro trucks being around in central Alicante (the days of tarpaulin stands on street corners with matrons cooking churros in wood fuelled oil filled gasoline drums are long gone). I'll ask my mama to bring some along when they collect us. Great idea!
(There is a place that sells churros just outside St Pancras, assume it will be closed that evening)
Typical Alicantinian fuel for getting through the night is the Plis-Play: 1/2 glass coffee liqueur and half a glass of Coca-Cola.
