When I called to try and apply it as one-shot over the phone, I got a clueless agent that says GUM-HKG requires a GPU.. Anyways, I hung-up. Applied the RPU to HNL-GUM-HKG (without the HNL-GUM, cause RPUs can't be used on this leg.. It says Restricted.) and phoned back to have the agent stretch my RPU on to YVR-SFO-HNL..
Initially I had an argument about R space not available, but I was like fine.. just waitlist me..
After she did that, When I looked online it says:
YVR SFO - R Class Requested
SFO HNL - CPU Eligible.
Did she apply it right? or do I have to HUCA..
I now believe I have a married segment because
YVR-SFO shows R0
SFO-HNL shows R6
Searching YVR-SFO-HNL shows R0
Is it easy to get another agent to split this and confirm upgrade SFO-HNL for now?
Do I need call back to get SFO-HNL waitlisted because it doesn't say R Class Requested?
They may want to collect tax if you split the segment but it is doable. I have successfully done in the past.
