I am CP and flew on AA Friday the 12th, and they were unable to add me to the upgrade list in either DEN or DFW. I was rebooked today on AA because my US flight was delayed. When on the phone with US I asked about upgrades and they told me that I was eligible to be added to the AA upgrade list and to ask at the gate. The gate agent told me it wasn't possible and even turned computer screen around to show me that it produced an error when he tried. He was very apologetic but there are at least 7 empty seats in F on this flight and I am stuck in the back when I should get the free upgrade.

I wish they just told us it wasn't possible, that's easier to swallow then getting your hopes up when looking at an empty F on EF and still not clearing.
