Many small sites try to fool you into thinking they have a truste or bbb seal. If you're going to turn over your credit card over to them, at least make sure you verify that these seals are valid. here's how:
Visit
http://www.nytimes.com/info/help/privacy.html#truste
That will take you to the New York Times' privacy section that deals with trust-e and BBB. Notice how both seals are links. If you click on either link, it will show you a page saying that this site is officially certified.
If you see these seals on websites like milesbar where they cannot be clicked (i.e its just an image) then consider it fraudulant usage.
by the way truste and BBB have consumer watchdog pages where you can report fraudulant usage of their seals. To find out about this, and report milesbar.com, please visit:
http://www.truste.com/users/users_watchdog.html
http://www.bbb.org/about/notice.asp
Even if you don't report milesbar.com, I hope you folks learn a little something from this discussion.
