Noon departure out of Heathrow - lounge or other activities in the morning?

There are 2 of us, arriving into Heathrow from Germany on Saturday night around 7-8pm. We are both flying out of Heathrow the next day, Sunday, at around 12.30pm. My friend has access to the T3 Cathay lounge, and I have access to the T3 Virgin Clubhouse. I pre-paid for the Ibis London Heathrow hotel, since I was originally on a flight departing at 9am.

My question is, what are thoughts about our options for Sunday morning? We should be up early being on German time. Thoughts on these options?

- Heading to the airport early and enjoy the lounges?
- Walking trails/parks near the airport (this will be in April)?
- Renting a car and driving somewhere for a few hours? Windsor? Central London? Closer in?
- Take a bus or train somewhere in the local vicinity? Trails/parks?

We've both been to London before, but it seems like a waste to not do something when in London (he's from Australia, and I'm from the USA).

Any suggestions on how to enjoy a fulfiling Sunday morning without having a frantic schedule? Or should we just head to our respective lounges and enjoy those?
