Apologies for the ambiguity, but exactly what mcgahat said. Another poster mentioned this scenario a few pages back so I decided to inquire about it as I was #4 with the first 2 clearing to J and 2 F spots left. One agent couldn't comprehend what I was asking while the one that did said she has no way of knowing who was a revenue J pax to upgrade. I would have to find out and "know" them.
That being said, I was a bit shocked I was that high on the list with a mid Oct request. The list started out at 25 or so and ended up in the 40s by boarding time.
Datapoint: cleared 138 Monday with a mid July request.
