What's not cool is when a tourist enables, or even encourage, the behavior of scamming tourist and going against the rules laid out by the Thai government. This kind of uncertainty in price may ultimately drive the demand for cabs down, which in turn hurts the cab drivers themselves. We already have a few anecdotal evidence from this post, where one would rather take the train to avoid the high probability of getting scammed. I for one take the car service provided by the airport (I think it's 1200 baht) since I hate getting bilked by cab drivers.

Stop enabling these cab drivers and exercise your right to a fair fare.
