The change in earning RDMs will mean I earn 40-60% of what I earned on previous flights. That said, with ex-Europe fees on redemptions, the difference between booking an award with fees and just buying a ticket is not all that far apart. I tend to use miles for friends and family to meet somewhere in the USA or bring them to Europe.
I haven't flown UA in years either and theres a good reason for it, all one has to do is peruse all the negative threads on the UA forum.
As for DL, I to will be earning a huge percentage less of skymiles, but Delta claims award travel at lower redemption rates will be easier to find. HAA!! If you believe that then I have a bridge to sell you! Unfortunately, the race to the bottom continues.
