As far as the first checked bag fee, it's generally reimbursable by employers. If JetBlue is competing with United on BOS-Houston, or Delta on BOS-DTW, and these routes are flown with a lot of business travel pax, it's leaving money on the table, and letting competitors have an advantage on the route.
Charging for a bag would not make business pax choose B6. If anything, Kettles would move away from B6 (and switch to WN?).

At that point, B6 would be no different than UA and DL. I probably would switch all my business travel to the legacies as MileagePlus, Skymiles, and MileagePlan are much more valuable programs to me than TrueBlue.
