Although it is problematic for those travelling on USair Flight numbers or metal if trying to access AC's solely via paid QP membership.
It is definitely contradictory ; even so , it is still necessary that the flight be marketed by and operated by AA so US flights would still not be eligible for access

Not just US flight numbers, the flight has to be AA operated AND marketed
