Hello all,
my first post here

Booked a flight with Emirates, JFK-PEK with layover in DXB both ways.
According to the miles calculator at webflyer.com, my single way miles should be: 6830+3610 = 10440; and so round trip should be 20880.
In manage booking on Emirates.com, I see that I get (sorry, don't know how to upload a picture):
Miles Details ||| Skywards Miles ||| Tier Miles
North America (East) (JFK) - Far East (PEK) Saver ||| 4750 ||| 4750
Far East (PEK) - North America (East) (JFK) Saver ||| 4750 ||| 4750
Total Miles per Emirates Skywards member ||| 9500 ||| 9500
Family Bonus members earn 20% of Skywards Miles shown which will be credited to the Family Head.
So can anyone tell me if this number of miles is correct? What are tier miles? I tried to google, but don't really understand it.
Little background: this is the first time flying with Emirates, and I don't think I will fly with them more often in the future (I know the expiration is 3 yrs). I live in the US, and so miles applicable to to the US/EU/Asia will be more useful for me

. For this reason I am trying to figure out whether I should collect the miles towards either Alaska Air or JetBlue since they are US-based. Any recommendations?
THANK YOU!
