Tire Coverage

I know this is a vague question but I leased a BMW this year. As with every dealer, their finance guys was trying hard to sell me tires and windshield warranty which I immediately declined. All other things are covered from BMW except the tires and windshield. The warranty would have costed around $2,000.

I didn't realize that the tires of BMW are actually pretty expensive. And once a tire gets flat and if there's a big nail or something, you need to get the tire replaced. It can't get patched. Although you can do it, but there's a great risk involved. Anyway, I got the tire replaced and it costed me $300.

I want to avoid this situation in the future. Is there anything I can do about it? I purchased the tire using my Amex Platinum with the intent that it might be covered under their warranty or something but I believe it won't. Is there any workaround to this? Does any CC company cover it? Thoughts?
