Did you take out insurance? if so then delayed luggage expenses are likely covered very easily

If not, then you chose to self insure then you can write to Emirates detailing the reasonable necessary expenses incurred and you will likely get reimbursed

Do you seriously expect reimbursement claims to be processed in 2 days?

It is not Emirates's fault that you chose to stay in Mumbai ; Emirates would send your missing luggage on to Mumbai once found if informed of travel plans; if you fail to secure an account for choosing not to go to meetings then that is not Emirates's fault
