I've pretty much given up online checkin because when I did I often ended up with a different room anyway, plus, speaking to a desk agent in person might yield an upgrade of some sort.
I've been leaning in that direction too. Do you have any idea what the next upgrade might be if I have already booked an Ali'i Ocean Front room? I'm guessing it would be a suite. I am open to paying a few extra bucks a night for that, provided my view is still "ocean front."
