One thing to consider is that the exchange table for MedMera points to Sas extra points is said to be valid until 2015-03-31. So the two of them probably decided to have a trial period for their cooperation, and it is fully possible that the exchange rate will change at that point in time.

Also, one would need to exchange at least 20k MedMera points each time to get the best exchange rate.
