Until an exact aircraft is assigned (approx 48~72 hours before departure) you will see a hybrid seatmap for the vast majority of 739 routes (new or old config). I don't know how many such discussions have happened here (versus threads discussing the specific seating changes), but they do this in a number of fleets (COMike has a 73G/8 hybrid map they use, a few different RJ fleets as they went through conversions, etc.). The one exception seemed to be the 738/9's that were delivered without E+ (not sure how the managed that).
