That is possible but the only goal in OP's case would be to SDC for different flights over several days or longer to see if one of the flights goes MX and then get a refund. OP - it could be a consideration.

I have tried that before and was able to SDC for several flights over 48 hours, then no more SDC's were available to me without an add collect, so the value of the ticket was lost (<$200). Never send good $ after bad...
