Discount the maps. Amanusa is spectacular. Those villas, in particular, are very impressive and some of the best I've seen. The beach club is fantastic, but yes, it does require a short 3 minute ride.

If beachfront is a priority, you may opt for FS Jimbaran. We also walked past the St Regis Bali, which is just next to Amanusa's beach club, but weren't impressed.
