On some much older GSM phones one has to specify or manually select between 850/1900 and 900/1800, may be this is the case on this newer phone. Or may be it's not set to auto, and it's set on the 900/1800 only bands. It's either that, or there is some incorrect information out there about the bands it supports. It's not common that a dual sim version of a phone include more bands than the non-dual sim version. Usually the only difference is in the dual-sim functionality.

And yet, the phone does not work here in the U.S. (perfectly last week in Europe, just not here) ???

I tried calling Nokia today but the recording says their service only works Mon-Fri so I will wait and call them then.
