Second stay at this hotel and just for a night but pretty satisfied with it.
Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive?
Booked King Opera House View using my corporate rate. Received King Club Governor Suite as my upgrade.
How are the rooms?
The Governor's Suite on the 30th floor is large, spacious and has great views of Sydney harbour. The reflection of the sun off the water did make the room very bright though when I had the blinds up. Sydney was also very windy that weekend which caused a lot of rattling at a couple of the windows and was quite noisy.
The bathroom, whilst large, needs a little bit of a makeover with some retro tiling.
How is the exec. lounge?
Didn't use the lounge this stay.
What was your welcome gift?
My last stay I received the obligatory fruit and a reasonable bottle of red. This stay I received nothing...not even a note from one of the hotel managers.
Did you receive fruit in the room?
Nope
What was good and what was bad?
Good
Upgrade was excellent, staff were very friendly.
Bad
Whilst it's true of many properties, the room service is exceptionally overpriced. Also the minibar is slightly less fully stocked when compared to other IC properties I've stayed at in Australia.
Value for $ or Priority Club Points?
With the upgrade I received I thought it was great value for $$s
