Priority Boarding does not necessarily mean boarding first, just boarding with priority ahead of those without priority.
I don't think the OP was not given priority over non-status passengers in their cabin.

I was not given priority over non-status passengers. Why do you mention "in their cabin"? Is this included somewhere in BA Policies?
