First time walked - question about compensation

Had a reservation for the Courtyard in Orlando. Arrived and told "sorry, no king rooms, but you can have a king suite across the street at the Fairfield." I say "double is fine." Clerk says "actually, we're sold out." I say fine, Fairfield it is.

In my head I think there is compensation for being walked, but I can't remember if it is only for plats (I'm gold), and if it applies if I get walked to another Marriott property, so I (foolishly probably) don't say anything.

Courtyard prints the key & I cross the street. Get to the room & it's not a suite, and it's not a king.

I look up compensation.

Do I get $100 for the walk and $50 for the wrong bed?

Should I go to the desk in the am to ask for it, or do I ask online?

And if at the desk, the FI or CY desk?

Thanks.
