My question, or rather my comment, is pretty straight forward. I want to be able to put a toggle switch on my android home screen to go into Airplane mode, instead of having to go to settings, use the power switch, or combination key command to do so. Which is why I am hoping to keep this thread open - so that we can discuss how to make our devices do what we want them to, and not what other people want them to.

Airplane Mode Toggle (Google Play). What phone are you using? There may even be pre-installed options based on your device and/or launcher.
Out of curiosity, is there a reason you don't like the pulldown option? Depending on how many screens you have and where you place the toggle, the pull-down may be even less time
