This thread seems quite old but I thought to post on this as it would help some one in same situation as I was.

I travelled to my holiday destination from UK via Dubai and my baggage arrived 24 hours later then expected, I have sent an email to emirates after coming back to UK about trouble i had at foreign destination.

I got reply from emirates:

Emirates provide payment of USD 50.00 per day, for Economy class passengers. Therefore, I am pleased to offer you the amount of US$ 100.00, towards your delayed baggage claim...

Please complete the attached Claim Settlement Form ..to arrange payment.
