I was going to add be careful about carry ons if your FIRST flight is on a CRJ. If you have to gate check your bag because the CRJ really doesnt have overheads worth a darn, then you have to wait on the jetway for your bag to come up. Goodbye ten minutes.

Looks like your inbound to PHL is from LAX, which means unless you're zone 5, you will have your bag as you deplane, and can walk/run directly to your connection. Actually, zone 5 they force you to gate check to your final destination anyway. Just dont be late in first, where they gate check as a courtesy if you're too late to get overhead space.
