I'm also on a point stay at 10K points per night (versus 24K points for the Hilton Opera). Although hotels in Hanoi are generally inexpensive, I'm using points left over from 2013's Daily Getaway deals, so the 10K points cost me only US$50. This is still a good discount over the lowest advanced purchase price I saw (US$64++, about US$77 a.i.).
If I were paying, I think I would spring for the Hilton (a.p. US$92++) instead of using points -- or choose for one of the serviced apartments nearby that cost about the same price.
