I've gotten 4 DL VDBs at $400 this year. Last year, even got them up to $600 a couple times.
UA does start low, but I've managed to get them up to $500 recently.
But like you, I don't play for the ridiculous low amounts unless the reaccomm is incredibly good.
Last time I was in SMF, they said they're offering $150 for an overnight + hotel/food. I said when it gets to $300, let me know. I was in no hurry, but at the same time, $150 doesn't buy much.
