Several months ago, I told a FA on a mainline flight that UA should consider providing one free checked bag to every pax and limiting carry-on bags to one per pax, with extra carry-on bags charged at $100 per bag.

Far too many pax, elites included, are just dumping their stuff up front and then heading back, creating chaos when the plane lands and everyone goes for their stuff.
